The Dancing England Rapper Tournament
took place on the weekend of 8th to 10th March 2013.
Ryknild Rapper hosted DERT 2013 in Burton-on-Trent.
Over to Black Swan who are hosts for DERT 2014 in LEEDS on 7th ~9th March 2014.

The Competition took place on the Saturday 9th March 2013. 25 teams took part in the main competition.
The dances were judged in five public houses around Burton upon Trent. Every team was seen by every judge.
The Youth Competition (DERTy) took place in the Town Hall during the afternoon.
There were also competitions for a Traditional dance and a 'Spotlight' dance (judged on this one dance only).
All the Rapper Teams performed in the ‘Showcase’ at the Town Hall during Saturday evening.

Woa...great minds think etc..We've been thinking that very same think for a while.... Future DERTs might well feature a 'VETS' class like athletics do. It would be grand having different criteria and slower, more considered performances showing skill and precision instead of the bash and clatter that some of the younger teams get up to! Watch this space or next year's at least.

Scally Rapper would dearly love to attend DERT 2013 but current state of knees and shoulders mean we have to give it a miss. Are there many other 60's and 70's (I mean 1960-70) dancers out there who would prefer to dance in a "Senior" competition? We could muster an over 50's team and by next year an over 60's team. Any takers?
